A major challenge facing Jordan is its vulnerability to fluctuations in international oil prices due to the country’s high dependency on imported supplies for energy. As one of the options to address the energy security challenges, the Government of Jordan is implementing a civilian nuclear energy program with the aim to have the first Jordan Nuclear Power Plant (JNPP); we at Aljazy & Co. are advising Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC) in exploring, managing and implementing the Kingdom’s nuclear energy program. Our Nuclear Energy practice includes a large group of areas as well as vendors and suppliers to the nuclear industry. Aljazy & Co. attorneys have full command of the regulatory and commercial aspects of the nuclear industry and advise clients on a daily basis on regulatory, environmental, transactional matters, and have extensive experience in concession agreements.
Furthermore, our attorneys' expertise extends to the future of the energy sector in the world and in Jordan. Through our knowledge, we advise our clients on all traditional and renewable energy regulations. Having accumulated vast experience in the renewable energy sector, we are accustomed to advising companies revolutionizing the energy market, and those geared towards reducing the Jordanian industry sector’s dependence on non-renewable energy sources and bringing it to a cleaner, greener future.
